Diary – 27th Sept – Photos and a visit to the local Docs

Visited my local GP today, Its taken around 8 days to get an appointment, which I made because of all the distressing sore lumps and bumps around my head and neck. As is usual, the GP I’m seeing today is completely different from the previous one that has a little more background. Was expecting it to be the usual car crash.

I walked in, gave her a top level background – showed her the photos and she said ‘That clearly doesn’t look right, we need to get you to the Tropical Disease Center, I’ll make an appointment for you ASAP’ …… WOW!!!!!!?

After battling with Doctors for so long to get them to even acknowledge ‘that something clearly isn’t right’ I was in a state of shock.

Regardless – I’m not going to get my hopes up high, lets see what happens when I’m over at the Tropical Disease Center.

This is absolutely crucifying me – The time, effort the merry-go-round of medical service’s, the cash burn. However I really need to get a resolution. I don’t have a choice though – I simply cannot continue with this crappy quality of life with no end in sight. One small, incremental step at a time…… progress. At the very least, I’ve gone from complete dismissal from the medical profession to something begrudgingly towards acknowledgment of ‘something’.

What I think helped: I had a selection of good quality photos on my laptop, which was very fast and clear (Its a MAC). These photos were picture of lumps and bumps as well as objects. A letter from the Derm saying that he thinks I should go to the Tropical Disease Center. I also offered to extract more of these objects from my body. I had a container of samples (not asked for). I was factual, succinct and to the point – Doctors will make a judgement on how you present yourself, how you speak etc.

Some more recent pictures – going to have to sort out that timestamp.

Notice the tiny dots – I do think these are a lifecycle stage of the infection.
